Dr Ram Manohar Lohia National University Campus came to live with its 3 day youth fest SPOCULIT 2010 which started on Friday, 19th March,2010. The event was inaugurated by Justice D. K. Arora, Judge, High court (Lucknow Bench) and Ranvir Singh, Arjuna Awardee. The event is an amalgamation of sports, cultural and literary activities.

The Vice Chancellor of RML University, Prof. Balraj Chauhan in his welcome speech said this event will be made a part of the varsity’s calendar. Atleast 300 students from 6 National Law Universities, 3 Central Universities and 6 Leading Law Institutes across the country converged at the Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia National Law University, Lucknow for various cultural, literary and sports events. Everybody praised the hospitality provided by the host team. Shahnaz from RML Varsity said that, “we are committed and determined to give the best facilities to the visiting teams.” The youth festival will see many on-the-spot events like photography, dumb charades, and debate contests. It will also test the writing skills of Law students in the event called the ‘Parody Making Competition’ to be held later.

The inaugural soccer match was played between Law Faculty (AMU) and NLU Jodhpur in which the latter emerged winners as they defeated AMU by 5-0 score. Among other major events, RML Varsity defeated RGNUL Patiala in Badminton (boys) by a huge margin while NLU Jodhpur defeated AMU in Basketball. RMLNLU also emerged winners in preliminary rounds of chess and volley ball where they defeated CNLU Patna. The event also witnessed preliminary rounds of Parliamentary debate.
