Khun Khun Ji Girls’ Degree College, Lucknow, celebrated its Annual Function on 11thFebruary, 2010. On this day, a cultural programme was put up by the college students. The Chief Guest, Lalji Tandon inaugurated the function by lighting the candle.
The program started with “Saraswati Vandana” which was sung by Priyanka Vajpai, Richa Shukla and Ruchi. “Khun Khun Ji College hamara hum sabko praano se pyara hai”, this song was sung by Priya, Preeti Verma, Shivani Kapur, Shweta Srivastav, Nidhi Singh, Neha Tiwari, Richa Shukla, Arti Mishra, Pooja Pal, Rekha Yadav and Rupali Shukla. Girls danced on songs like “madhuban mai jo kanhaiyya kisi gopi se mile, radha kaise na jale” and “Holiya mai ude re gulal”.
Other Guests present were Nitin Majumdaar, Dr. Indu Srivastav, Dr. Uma Chowdhery, Dr. Haseen Jaha, Dr. Rajesh Kumari, Dr. Chandra Panday, Prof. Jagdish Prasad and Chandra Prakash Garg.
On this occasion Manager, Om Prakash, told the people present in the function that in 1931 girl education was considered to be a crime. In that period, Rai Bahadur Harekrishna Das Khun Khun established “Khun Khun Ji Anglovernecular Girls’ Middle School”, which today stands as Kun Khun Ji Girls’ P.G. College.
