“Expertise gained from top film makers will revolutionize the children's film making process of City Montessori School”, said Mr. Varghese Kurain, Head, City Montessori School Films Division. He said that this International Film Festival is scheduled to be held in Berlin from 11 to 21 February, 2010. Mr Srinivas Santhanam, the Festival Director will be accompanying Mr Kurain.
Talking to the journalists, Mr Kurain said that, Berlin Film Festival is considered to be very significant, where representatives of 136 countries will be meeting after two years. He said that in these two weeks festival,culture and art of the world will be reflected and students will gain a lot of experience which will be very fruitful for them. He further told the reporters, that cinema is the most powerful and popular tool in imparting education.Thus, CMS will continue making inspirational films, which will include social and spiritual teachings for the moral development and character building of children and youth.
Mr Kurian informed that CMS is going to organize International Children's Film Festival consecutively for the second year from 6 to 12 April 2010 at CMS Kanpur Road Auditorium. CMS has received entries of 80 films from 21 countries namely England, India, Germany, USA, Italy, Switzerland, Croatia, Spain, Persia, China, Netherlands, Greece, Romania, Norway, Sweden, UK, Argentina, Slovania, Sri Lanka and Belgium. A preview committee has been formed to select best films. Winner will be awarded with Rs. 10lakhs.
Renowned Educationist and Founder of CMS, Dr Jagdish Gandhi, present at the Press Conference, gave his best wishes to Mr Kurian and Mr Santhanam for their Germany visit and said that he has hope that new and global experience gained during Berlin Film Festival will add colors in forthcoming CMS International Film Festival for children.
