Health Awareness Campaign - La Martiniere Girls’ College

La Martiniere Girls’ Alumni Asociation set the New Year rolling on a hearty note by organizing an Inter School Health Awareness Campaign in collaboration with Hope Initiative with an aim to spread awareness of good health by conducting health oriented programmes.

The day, 3rd February 2010, saw scores of youngsters between age group 10-16 years, thronging enthusiastically into the L.M.G.C. auditorium to happily participate in the competition. Posters, Collages and an overwhelming display of art were seen as the young artists’ transformed sheets of white into a psychedelic array.

Contemporary topics like Global Warming, Healthy Habits, Keep your City Clean & Green and Road Safety were brought alive by the students of Loreto Convent, L.M.G.C., Study Hall, St. Fidelis, Gurukul Academy, CMS Gomtinagar & Hoerner College. The highlight of the day was a Quiz conducted by Ms. Taru Saxena, who was able to draw out the best from the participating teams. The Alumni Association felt honoured to have eminent doctors of the city to be part of the programme. While Dr. Chandravati was the Chief Guest of the programme, the guest of honour was Justice Trivedi. Some of the important guests were Mrs. Preeti Singh, Principal Junior School, Colvin Taluqedar; Mrs. Seema Nath - Principal Ringing Bells, Dr. Jyotsna Mehta, famous gynaecologist, running Sahni Nursing Home and Mr. Ravi Kapoor eminent photographer of the city.

Special thanks to Mrs. F. Abraham Principal, LMGC for her support in all endeavours of the Alumni Association.

The LMGAA hopes to host many such events to benefit the schools of Lucknow.
